Within the 25 years of its existence, the point of NGOCC has changed from co-coordinator to a focal point of the women's movement of Zambia. Links with Donors NGOCC gives advice to affiliates on available funding from donors and applications procedures. It mobilizes funding from joint activities with member organizations. Donors often consult NGOCC for reference on NGOs before approving the application.

NGOCC seeks to consolidate maximum utilization of resources of NGOs through co-operation in order to improve efficiency and avoid duplication of efforts. NGOCC Programmes
NGOCC aims at strengthening affiliate NGOs and facilitating their activities. The following are the Programme areas: - Membership Development Support - under which are two units of Capacity Building and Grant Management.Training/Capacity Building programme area is critical to NGOCC as it is intended to equip NGOs/CBOs with various skills and knowledge in order to strengthen the already existing capacities.
- Communication and Advocacy whose areas include a Documentation Centre. NGOCC has since 1985 developed a collection of 2500 documents on gender issues and other topics pertinent to women.
- The center also has in stock reports from some national and international conferences and workshops.
- The library is open for consultation to affiliates, researchers and students.
- Women's Centre NGOCC recently acquired the women's center which belongs to the women's movement and in particular to NGOCC and its membership.
